Creating a PDF/A-file
This guide is made for the newest Microsoft Word -software. Creating a pdf/a-file is possible with older versions also, only the menus may look different. Pdf/a -document can be created with other software too, for example Open Office. With these, the logic is similar - terms and menu-options are different though. LaTeX-users may find the following page useful: http://www.mathstat.dal.ca/~selinger/pdfa/
Start by opening the main menu and select Save as, then select the intended location on either your computer or a network location.
When you have found the location you want to save the file to, a new window opens. Give the file a good descriptive name and select the file type you want the file to be. In this case you want to make a pdf-file with additional options. So select PDF as a file type and press the "Options"-button.
Options -button opens a new window, in which you want to make sure that the item ”ISO19005-1 compliant (PDF/A)” is checked.
